OUR CHALLENGE

Prologue was engaged to create a framework designed to surface important questions, facilitate decisions and drive at successful outcomes. Out of that framework we worked with AZ Leads to create a brand that would support efforts at balancing competing, yet equal priorities: to simplify complex and politically tense issues, appeal to a wide variety of education stakeholders, maintain a focus on solutions rather than problems, and attract funders. 

STRATEGY & APPROACH

Collaborating with the entire team, Prologue conducted a series of interviews, meetings, and strategy sessions in accordance with the stated goals to raise questions and issues, identify opportunities and partnerships, encourage decision-making, define the scope and execute a plan which established the entity as a leader, developed an identifiable, credible and inclusive brand, and effectively pursued multiple objectives.

OUTCOMES

The new brand identity system coupled with their brand new website gave  AZ Leads the digital platform they needed to officially launch with confidence as a credible resource and authority. 

Our Challenges

Prologue and AZ Leads recognized there were obstacles to overcome. These included a crowded and misunderstood education field, relationships that needed to be organized and effectively leveraged, the challenge of articulating solutions, and an uncertain political climate. 

AZ Leads had to be appealing to both education stakeholders and corporate funders. 

It needed to address the issues impacting students - but not the students themselves, and be student-focused - but not scholastic or elementary.

AZ Leads needed to demonstrate comfort with academia, data, and analysis while simplifying and clarifying for the casual reader.  

The brand had to speak to the future and possibility while avoiding any hint of political or partisan leanings.

Logo Process 

The AZ Leads Sunrise logo represents hope, new beginnings, and the dawn of a new day in education, shining fresh light on a bright future for Arizona’s students. Simple and bold, it tells the story of our beginning and future.  

Our logo’s single line represents the journey we take towards bettering our education system. Confident in the knowledge that if we keep our eyes focused on our goal, we will reach a better tomorrow. 

The brand colors had to appeal to diverse groups of people, and project confidence and possibility. The colors reflect a sunrise, a new-day feeling, with the blending of shades and gradients. The color palette was created to inspire confidence, hope, and freshness while avoiding predictable elementary school colors, or venturing into any hint of politics. Inspired by the Arizona state flag, the colors evolved into bold, primary shades that reflect youth and education while still appearing modern and professional.
